The next stage of modernization of Heat&Power Plant in Pruszków towards low-emission fuel sources is underway. The demolition works of the SPW building are well advanced, in place of which a gas engine room powered by blue fuel will be built, constituting a new source of electricity and heat in the cogeneration system for the agglomerations of Pruszków, Piastów and neighboring towns.
The engine building will be equipped with gas engines with an electric power of 12MW and a thermal power of 12MW. These engines will make it possible to replace some of the coal-based electricity and heat sources currently used in the Pruszków Heat&Power Plant. Completion of the investment is planned for the second quarter of 2024. The gas engine building is the second contract, after the gas-oil boiler room, that Instal Warszawa is carrying out for PGNiG Termika at the Pruszków Heat&Power Plant.
